3 Things We Learned From Chelsea's Draw Vs Swansea

While it was a respectable point away from hope the blues clearly deserved all three points as the statistics of our performance in Wales showed.

The blues had a total 28 shots compared to Swansea's 6,with seven of ours on target while our hosts scored with their only shots on target. The blues had 55% dominance while recording 85.5 percent pass completion.

With the next three games coming up against tougher opposition, the lessons from the game at the Liberty Stadium should provide a boost.

1. Finishing Off A Game While In Dominance
With the manner of late victories against Watford and Westham in the earlier fixtures the blues now clearly understand while they have to kill off the game once they are in ascendency.
With the team 1:0 up in the first half Chelsea squandered a host of full or half chances that could have buried the game. Perhaps the most agonizing was the wide shot by Diego from two yards just before the break. The Spaniard however atoned for his miss with a sublime overhead kick to ensure a share of the spoils that wouldn't have been necessary if the blues had made much more effective use of their first half dominance. If Swansea could be 2:1 up in three minutes then those first half minutes should have rained goals.

2. Reshuffling Of The Back line
While Thibaut is slightly to be blamed for conceding the penalty while we were ahead, the four man defence was clearly caught on the counter. With utmost respect to captain JT,he lacked the pace to catch up with Siggurdson which prompted Thibaut rushing off his line.
New arrivals Marcos Alonso and David Luiz are likely to be featured in the coming games to help inject more pace to the backline, otherwise, there could be more goals conceded from our own free kicks .

3.Costa Will Be Instrumental As We Match To The Pinnacle
Our two-goal hero on Sunday has now registered either a goal or an assist in his last six Premier League games with more definitely on the way.

Conte hailed the manner he performed against Swansea despite getting kicked several times. He was fouled seven times, the highest for any player on the pitch while registering 5 shots.

'Passion' is the word Conte uses to describe his work rate which at its highest quality could be a pivot throughout this season .He however is on three yellow cards already and needs to be more careful or risk missing some important games.

*Eden Hazard and Willian are experts from the flanks with N'golo doing the tidying just at the right time.

The next three fixtures are tricky and could really test just how prepared the blues are to fight till May.Liverpool are our visitors on Friday night before we take on Leicester in the next round of the EFL Cup.A London derby against Arsenal comes up the next weekend.
