Fitness Boost Ahead Of Spurs Clash

There was positive news from Guus Hiddink ahead of late Mondays match against 2nd placed Tottenham hotspur. The ex-dutch team boss reported that skipper John Terry and fellow centre back Gary Cahill were fit to play against spurs perhaps spelling and end to John Mikel Obi's presence at the heart of the defence in the previous three matches. The Nigerian had been filling the void after injuries to the defensive pair as well as Kurt Zouma who remains a long term absentee.
John Terry who had been out since an injury sustained in the 5:1 thumping of Newcastle and Gary who had shown signs of illness in the previous weeks trained with the first team throughout the week although subsequent training sessions will reveal whether they are fit to compete for 90 minutes. Hiddink will however be relying on the defensive due to deal with the threats to be posed by Harry Kane and his counterparts on Monday night.
