The blues came twice from behind to secure a draw with two goals from Cesc Fabregas enough to the earn the point and maintain Guus Hiddink unbeaten league run.
Without the suspended Diego Costa,Chelsea were desperately in need of a morale booster having been knocked out of cup competitions by Paris st Germain and Everton respectively.They however suffered a setback when Lanzini scored with a sublime effort to give the hammers the lead.A period of Chelsea dominance and resilence by the hammers prevented the blues from notching an equalizer but the reward indeed arrived when Cesc Fabregas converted a freekick a minute towards the end of the first period.
The blues dominated proceedings after the restart but were unfortunate to be trailing after Andy caroll scored with his first touch,a left footed effort, after coming on to replace Sakho.
The blues however pushed for another equalizer with Loftus cheek being brought on for Oscar.Following a period of sustained pressure from the blues noted by an over head kick from Fabregas,while John Terry And Cahill headed wide,the blues executed a counter attack led by tireless Willian who opened up a pass for Ruben who was tripped.A penalty it was!Cesc fabregas took it with aplomb sending the goalkeeper the wrong way and securing a deserved point for the blues.The hammers keeper was shown a yellow card for angrily kicking the ball well wayward.after the penalty while Willian was booked for a similar offence.Ruben missed a chance to secure all three points when he shot well wide following good footwork from Traore.
With the international break looming,a deserved point surely isn't bad.
